Nurse Practitioners

Louise Stanway

I am originally from Scarborough and trained as a registered general nurse in Leeds General Infirmary 1987-1990. I have worked in a variety of acute settings including medicine, theatres and coronary care. I also spent 5 years as a QARANC officer in the army, serving in London and Northern Ireland. My role in the army was very much like the role I have now, working very closely with the army  GP I did further training to be able to work independently. Since leaving the army in 1998 I have predominantly worked in primary care. I have done my degree course in Independent Practitioning and my Extended Prescribing.

Outside of work I am married and have 3 teenage children which keeps me pretty busy! My hobbies are singing, local theatre and walking.

I work at the surgery 3 days a week and I am very happy to have joined the team here at Eastfield!
